EXPERIENCE
Post-doctoral Research Associate, 2000-present, Institute of Theoretical Geophysics, Department of Earth Science, University of Cambridge, Developing mathematical models on nearshore sediment transport processes, designing field experiments and then examining the models with field data.
Research Assistant, 1994-1999, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Assisted deployment and retrieval of benthic boundary layer measuring instruments at Duck, NC. (Participating in Duck96 and SandyDuck) and then analyzed wave, current and sediment concentration data to estimate sediment transport rates.
Research Contract Student, 1992-1994. Field Research Facility, Army Corps of Engineers, Duck, North Carolina. Conducted field surveys at the facility to routinely monitor nearshore bathymetry and then processed, analyzed and reported nearshore survey data.
Research Assistant, 1990‑1991, Department of Geography, University of Maryland, Worked on sea-level rise and its impact on the coastline.İ Unpublished report, ìGroundwater input to sea-level rise by 2100", to Alton Jones Foundation.
