Research Interests

I am involved in the design and running of experiments in the Fluid Dynamics Laboratory at DAMTP, aimed at modelling the fluid dynamics applicable to a variety of processes in the Earth Sciences. Some indication of the range of my interests is provided by the following topics

• Crystallization and convection in magma chambers
• Viscous gravity currents and lava flows
• Particle-laden flows, turbidity currents and sedimentation
• Porous media
• Cumulate layering
